Champion is 100% privately owned by the Singhania family.
Sushil Singhania
Chairman
As Chairman, Sushil Singhania sets the strategic direction of Champion Advanced Materials — the chemistries the company invests in, the markets it builds for, and the standards it manufactures to. His guidance shaped the decision to move the family’s specialty chemicals business into manufacturing, and continues to inform how the company balances capacity, quality and long-term customer partnerships.
He brings fifty years of experience in the chemicals industry, having joined the business founded by Purushottamlal Singhania in 1947 and guided the Singhania Group’s development over five decades.
Since 1980 he has travelled extensively in China, developing supplier and manufacturer relationships and first-hand commercial understanding of the region at a time when few Indian businesses had done so. That experience informs Champion’s raw material sourcing and its perspective on competing in global epoxy curing agent markets.
He was educated at St. Joseph’s School, Darjeeling and St. Xavier’s School, Kolkata, and holds a Bachelor of Commerce from St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata (1976).
Gaurav Singhania
Director & CEO
Gaurav Singhania is Chief Executive Officer of Champion Advanced Materials and runs the business day to day. His responsibilities span commercial and export strategy, the company’s manufacturing operations at GIDC Jhagadia, R&D direction, customer and technical partnerships, EHS and sustainability commitments, and building the team behind them.
Representing the third generation of the family in the business, he joined after a career in international finance and strategy consulting, beginning in investment banking at Goldman Sachs in New York and continuing at Boston Consulting Group, also in New York. He brings that analytical discipline to a manufacturing business competing globally, with an emphasis on product consistency, technical service, and transparency with customers across the Americas, Europe, Africa, Asia and the Middle East.
He was educated at the Cathedral & John Connon School, Mumbai, and holds a B.A. in Economics from Dartmouth College, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. He studied at Keble College, University of Oxford, and completed the Owner/President Management programme at Harvard Business School in 2023.
He is an active member of the Entrepreneurs’ Organization, Mumbai and the Young Presidents’ Organization, Bombay.
